IVEA Academy
Privacy
What the Academy keeps about students, families and teachers, and why.
What we keep
Accounts are made by the Academy office for enrolled students, their parents and our teachers. Nobody can sign up on their own.
For a student we keep their name, a scrambled copy of their PIN and, if the office adds it, the Google email they sign in with.
For a teacher or parent we keep their name, email and a scrambled copy of their password.
We keep the work students do here: answers, uploaded files, quiz and typing results, class attendance, grades and teacher comments.
If a family connects a school Canvas account, we keep the school address, an encrypted access token, and the courses, assignments and grades it shows. Report cards a family uploads are kept too.
Sign in with Google
Google tells us one thing: the email address of the account you chose. We use it only to find your Academy account. We do not read your Google profile, contacts, mail or files, and we do not post anything to Google.
How the AI is used
Written answers, questions asked in class and pitches are sent to OpenAI so the AI teacher can answer, suggest a score or act as a Shark. A teacher's grade is always the final one.
A question asked out loud is turned into text; we keep the text, not the recording. A Pitch Day recording is deleted once the teacher confirms the AI Shark's score.
Who can see it
A student sees their own work and grades. Parents see only their own children. Teachers and the Head of Academy see every student.
We never sell this information or use it for advertising. It is stored with Supabase and Vercel, and processed by OpenAI, only to run the Academy.
The Academy uses one cookie, to keep you signed in. There are no tracking cookies.
Changing or removing it
Ask the Academy office to correct or remove an account. Removing a student removes their work and grades with it.
